Nokia has released their latest mobile computer in the form of N900 and with this device they have joined the league of Apple, Google, Samsung, LG, Motorola manufactured Touch base smartphones

 

Here are the easiest instructions on Re-Flashing you Maemo device if you are experiencing issues.

 

Note: this will wipe out all data and settings ad restore your deivice to factory settings

 

Files required are: (Should be downloaded to same location)

 

Flasher tool Download (Search for Windows based .exe flasher from list)

Nokia N900 firmware Download (Enter IMEI number and download .bin file)

 

 

1)Recharge your phone to full charge

2)Turn of your Phone and disconnect USB or charging cable (full shut down)

3)While pressing "U" key on keyboard connect Phone to PC via USB cable

4)Keep holding the "U" key until you see the usb connected symbol on top-right

5) Once symbol appears let go of "U" key, now the phone is in flash mode

6)Open command prompt on computer by going start > run or Windows Key & R key combination

7) Navigate to location where you downloaded Flasher Tool and Firmware

8) Initiate Flasher Tool and select Firmware by following code

   ( cd "%ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5" )

9) Type this command now

   ( flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin -f -R )

10) The firmware update will start now and will take roughly 3 minutes, phone will reboot after update finishes

2) Update will only work if updates are available, if you are already at latest firmware and are experiencing problems you can use the above method to restore
