Windows Remote Desktop

Allows the user to connect two computers and control the 1 client computer from 1 Host computer remotely
Things You’ll Need:
- 1 Host Computer to use
- 1 Client Computer to connect to
Step1
Read all steps before doing anything.
Step2
On Remote Client computer (the one you want to connect to)
> right click on My Computer ( computer in Windows Vista)
> Click on properties
> Go to remote tab
> on the Remote desktop section of the tab check "Allow user to connect remotely to computer option"
> Open control panel
> Click on windows firewall ( on Vista you can search for firewall)
> On exceptions tab check remote desktop option
> On advanced tab highlight your connection method ( Local Area Network for desktops, Wireless or LAN for laptops)
> Click settings
> Check remote desktop in the services section of the window
Now your computer is configured to accept remote connections

You may want to make your home computer IP static to prevent it from changing

Applies if you have a home wireless router (behind router)
You need to configure your home router (port forward to your computer IP Address)

Step6
Log in using remote desktop
Windows XP its located in Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Remote desktop connection
Windows Vista you can search for Remote desktop
Step7
In the remote desktop client type in the IP Address you found out in Step 5
Log in using your computer ID and Password
Step8
Make sure password is enabled in the Remote Client computer you want to connect to.
